Light it up!:
|
A couple of weeks ago I saw some of Irene Müller's excellent photography, and I've been wanting to try her light bulb experiment. I finally got a chance to give it a try!
The setup was a simple light socket with a dimmer switch and some black cloth as a back drop. At the lowest setting, each bulb had about 2 seconds of light before the filament burned out. By far, the most difficult thing in this shoot was breaking the bulbs. Out of about 20 light bulbs, about 8 of them were usable. The glass is stronger than you think and I kept having to hit the bulb so hard that it broke the filament too.
I had a lot of fun doing this. If you want to give it a try, keep in mind that this is a fairly dangerous experiment. Be very careful when turning on the light bulb with the glass broken.
